It is a historical landmark. Ancient people are living here with nature. It is allowed to see that place. People in this village talks a different language. Some talks sinhela also. They are so kind and silent. They are busy in their work. We can go and see without any disturbs to them. Some of them are selling some hand works. There is a museum which exhibit their history. Have to take entry ticket. It is not permissible to take photography in the museum.

Sri Lanka’s the Veddha’s meaning “people of the forest” of Sri Lanka has a history much older than prince Vijaya’s landing in 5th century BC and the origins of the Sinhala race. Archaeological evidence suggest that modern Veddha’s Neolithic ancestors inhabited this island as far back as 10,000 BC with. Once roaming the Great Plains’ of the north central region to the central mountains, today the remaining Veddha population are confined to Dambana which is close to Maduru oya sanctuary.
