Zoologists' Aquarium

Consists of internal fish tanks facility with an advanced laboratory and external fish ponds complex. Mainly academic and non-academic staff work together with undergraduate and post graduate students. Additionally Foreign Granters, NGOs, School Children and other Interested Groups also get involved time to time. Main objective is the Research & Education on freshwater fauna and flora and other gastropods. And also the conservation of Sri Lankan freshwater fish species. Ornamental fish breeding and rearing with special reference to native species, is also promoted.

One and only place that I know which contain many endamic species of Srilanka as well as some exotic species.
