Most Ven. Sumedhankara Maha Na Himi Samadhiya

This is the Samadhi (a monument contains the bodily remains) of Most Ven. Dambagas-are Sumedhankara Maha Nayaka Thero who found this Seruwila Stupa as a ruined site in 1920s and gave the leadership to rebuild the temple and stupa. (This area was a forest for 800 years from the time of the cruel invasion of South Indian ruler Kalinga Magha until this Maha Thera found this stupa based on the ancient chronicle ‘Dhatuwamsa’.) He did a great service to the Buddhist community and became the Most Venerable Maha Nayaka Thero of Amarapura Sri Kalyaniwansha Nikaya and expired in 1984.

This is Samven in Mostven (the ruins include ruins). Dambagas-are Sumedhankara Maha Nayaka Thero discovered the Serwirastupa in the 1920s as a ruin and led the reconstruction of the temple and stupa. (This area has been a forest for 800 years, from the time of the cruel invasion of South Indian ruler Kalingamaga, until this Mahathera discovered this stupa based on the ancient Chronicle "Datuwamsa".) He was a Buddhist community. Amarapura Sri Kalyaniwansha Nikaya's most prestigious Maha Nayaka Thero, who has done a great deal of service to, expired in 1984.
