Siyane National College of Education- Veyangoda (Science and Mathematics) Siyane National College location is around 3km's from Veyangoda town. And 1.4km inside from Colombo-Kandy main highway, near to Thihariya Junction. The collage is Bordering the Dadagamuwa tank on one side and reaching the industrial zone at Malwatta on the other side. Siyane National College premises is having over 80 acres of land, which is donated by the former Prime Minister Mr.Sirimawo Bandaranayaka, as a semi-rural location, which is an ideal base for both academic and professional work for teachers. A significant landmark in the field of teacher education in Sri Lanka took place with the establishment of 5 colleges of education in Sri Lanka on 1st of October in 1985. This number today has risen to 18 colleges which offer more than 20 Courses on different disciplines. This school is for teacher training for the main subject disciplines of Science and Mathematics. Having situated in a little rural/village area,it is calm and quiet surrounding, which consists really helpful learning environment.

Great place for large scale events. 13th National Scouts Cubboree held this place from April 6th to 9th.

This is the place where my mother and my self both have been trained as teachers. I am a teacher trainee of it in 2003-2005 as the 17th batch. I respect this place, because it guide me on lot of areas to be a teacher. I am a child of mother siyane for ever.

This was founded in 1971, and spreading upto 80 acres of land which was donated by honourable Sirimavo Bandaranaike to enhance the teaching educatio. By 1985 it was enhanced with facilities to expand to offer more than 20 course of disciplines and to the current name Siyane National College of Education, which is one of other 18 national colleges in Sri Lanka.
