Late review - don’t be fooled by the location. Ella view restaurant was a highlight of our trip. You have to climb the little stairs to the top and there are only two tables but it is worth it! The owner will cook up a selection of great food and at a reasonable price. Being up high makes it a great spot to people watch and when you’re done you can always pop into the bar downstairs afterwards for a drink

Just perfect to relax by the end of the day, grabbing a beer at the cheapest price possible around Ella. It works as a wine shop in the Main Street. A lot of tourists stop here, but the place still belongs to locals. Maybe because it looks a bit shady from the outside it doesn’t attract as many tourists as other bars. We actually seat there a whole afternoon since we needed to work on our computer, and seating by the street was fun and relaxed, not productive as expected in the end... lolol

The restaurant upstairs is a hidden gem. Delicious food, freshly prepared all by just one man in a tiny kitchen. The smells while cooking were incredible and the food was really tasty. There are only two tables so you don't feel as touristy as when you're on the main street in Ella. I would highly recommend this place.

Great little restaurant perched above the bar (you need to climb a narrow staircase to get there). The owner cooks for you in his kitchen next to two tables as you order (and he may need to run to the next store to get an extra coconut or the passionfruit for your juice). The rice and curry is simple and absolutely delicious!

The restaurant ella view (not to be confused with the bar of the same name on ground level) is a very small space just up the stairs with a nice view of the hustle and bustle on Ella's main Street. The chef will prepare your meal freshly in a little kitchen space just next to the two tables up there. The menu is simple and the dishes are delicious. He's also passionate about his work and is happy to chat about it and show you how he works if you are interested. He refills your plates if you want more. An amazing place. Might look a bit dodgy from the outside (it is not!!!). Give it a try.
