Temple of the Tooth Museum

The beautiful temple Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Buddha's tooth), is the main attraction offered by the small town of Kandy and one of the most important Buddhist sites to see in Sri Lanka. Located on the north shore of the lake, this sanctuary is one of the most revered in the country and culturally very rich. The temple compound is of an unusual style in Buddhist temples, with some classical European touches. The enclosure is walled and surrounded by a beautiful moat, which serves as a prelude to the entrance of the complex. The temple of the Tooth of Buddha, also contains a museum in which we can see sculptures and works of different artists as well as paintings and antique objects of great value. There are also manuscripts and very old books perfectly preserved.
