It was a nice little place and the owner and his wife were lovely and helpful. Close to the station and the wall, easy to get around or go to the supermarket outside the wall where locals go. Room was clean and simple, perfect.

On arrival at the hotel we were asked to pay the full amont for our stay, in cash, this we duly did. We were then shown to our room and immediately overcome with a nasty smell and the overall dirtiness. We asked the receptionist to change rooms and were told another would be ready in an hour. We therefore visited a local coffee shop to wait. While waiting however we both agreed that it was extremely unlikely that any different room would be significantly better and therefore to cancel. We returned to the hotel and advised the receptionist of our decision. He spoke with the owner and then informed us that, as we had paid, the hotel's booking conditions were not to offer any refund. This despite the fact that our printed confirmation clearly stated only a part loss of monies would be applicable. There were no hotel booking conditions on display and so we asked to see a copy of them, the receptionship was unable to supply them and refused to refund our monies due. While we accept that this is a " budget " property, there is no excuse for uncleanliness and a blatant disregard for booking conditions.

Shady area, impossible to find door ( you'll find it at the very end of the road, on your left - here's a picture or two of it). The guy serving us was okay but: the twin room is a monstrosity. Don't trust the pictures - the room has raw walls (i uploaded a close-up of it), mouldy wooden doors and beds, no wardrobe at all, and a "private bathroom" that's a nightmare. No window in the bathroom, no shower curtain, no table or any kind of surface in the room nor the bathroom. The two beds were incredibly close to each other (2 thin people can't walk between 'em at the same time). The bed are the cheapest I've used in Morocco, the cushions are not even remotely comfortable. Broken ac unit in our room. Dirty towels, dirty bed sheets. Nope, don't go there. Just don't. The service is decent, the place is utterly awful.

Avoid this place at all costs!! I wouldn't stay if they gave it to us for free. After touring the world I never thought that I would get to experience this in a country I so dearly love. The door of the entrance is impossible to find and we were threatened by a guy while entering with a knife. The internet password was there however there was absolutely no internet working at this time which. The kid in the reception desk directly asked for the money to be paid for accomodation. I asked to use the bathroom however he did not allow me to do that. Smoking inside the riad is permitted I have stayed in budget hotels all my life but this one is the one to avoid at all costs. As a hotelier myself I understand the responsibility a host has for their guests. In this case the kid waiting for us inside the riad was more eager to side with the knife hustler than us. These people should not be in tourism business and i feel sad that for someone coming for the first time in the city of Marrakech they have to put up with hustlers not only outside but inside this riad too. The smells were unbearable covered by a general smell of mold in the air. After a long time in Morocco we were treated like garbage and scared for our lifes. Just go somewhere else plenty of places in Marrakech, avoid this one.
