Riad Oum ellkhir

Extremely nice people who took great care of us and helped making the most of our stay there, accommodating our gluten-free needs the best they could. Difficult to find though! Would recommend.

Upon arrival, by car, we were completely ripped off with parking. We ended up paying 200MAD for three days parking, but it was rather late and I didnt know the area at all. The place where we left the car wasnt even that close to the Riad, so we ended up leaving our luggage in the car, and just taking our backpacks. Without the parking guide we would have never found the Riad at that time of the day. Marrakech is the worst place to look even a little bit lost.. We stayed here for three nights. The Riad itself had very friendly staff. The Riad had plently of open common areas, which where nice to sit and spend a little time. The Wifi connection was ok, had some little connection problems at times. Location was very good as in being right in the mix, near the Medina. Rather a hectic place to stay, location wise, constant ripp off attemps and hassling, but that is more of Marrakech problem, not the riads. Negatives about the room, related mostly to the bathroom. Shower wasnt too great, and without a proper drain system (only in the little shower area) or ventilation, the floor was soaking wet after two showers. And the worst, the water leaked from the bathroom to the room, which cant do any good to the walls or floor in the long term.. We ate at the riad twice, the tagine we had was one of the best we had during our entire trip and at a very reasonable price. And we loved the chocolate cake! Marrakech was not at all our favourite spot to stay during our stay in Morocco, but this Riad made up for a lot of it, and I would definitely recommend it!

Nice staff. Good beakfast. Not neat rooms. No amenities. Very complicated location.
