This Riad was very cozy, and the staff was good. Very beautiful place and really nice breakfast. Although, It could get better in the cleaning area, as the swimmingpool wasn't very clean and the same with the bathroom.
Went there last year in February. There were some issues with hot water in the bathroom that they haven't been able to fix properly, and the bedroom walls are not really soundproof. Otherwise the Riad is very nice. It looks like a little palace. The breakfast on the rooftop terrasse is particularly good, served at the table with fresh fruits and pastries every day. The Riad was very quiet. You can even book activities directly from them, or order lunch and diner if you don't want to eat outside.
It is very hard to put into words how outstanding this property is. I can not think of anything that could have been better. Our room was as good as it gets, very palatial. The welcoming mint tea made addicts out of us. it was really a beautiful place to stay! After a terrible arrival at night time in the Medina. The service and the food was perfect. the ambient and the design was marveled. For sure, we'll come again.
The worst holiday we have and the hotel more worst! No restaurant No room service
No way to use the bathroom only the toilet.
No hot water , No window in the room.
In BIG PICTURE VERY BADDDDDDD
We were transferred to this Riad after being told there was no room in the Riad La Rose D'orient as they said there was an issue with our AirBnB booking and they had no space.
We were met haphazardly by the young manager who was enthusiastic, yet service offered was basic.
Breakfast is basic, but the breads and coffee are nice. Don't expect fruits, meats or much dairy. The female chefs are friendly and warm.
We had breakfast on the rooftop which needs some maintenance, a theme throughout the Riad.
The rooms are airy and big - maybe cold depending on time of year. We requested extra blankets on our 2nd night - and was given an uncovered duvet which was rather musty/smelly.
On the 3rd night the service and cleanliness of the Riad increased due to the impending arrival of a large Asian tourist group. Staff uniforms became more traditional and coincidentally nice new blankets were placed in our room. The toilet is nice, the shower was big. There was no door to the toilet, only a loose curtain so sharing with friends or a partner in the room can be an experience. The rooms have beautiful lanterns, which are pretty to look at but provide dim lighting. I found the rooms noisy as we were on the bottom floor. You can hear your neighbours talking, laughing and the doorbell to the Riad. The wifi turns off at midnight.
The area is daunting to begin with, as you are on the outskirts of the old town, in walking distance to Bahia Place, El Badii Palace and Jardin Sidi Hmed El Kamel. After the first day I felt at home and really enjoyed the local area. There are small shops nearby, but no Supermarket.
We ordered dinner on our first night, which came from a rather pricey takeaway.
Overall this place is cheap and cheerful, not luxurious or well serviced. Do some research and decide if this is for you.
