Local food is good enough

Through the Dades valley we reach Ouarzazate whose villages of ancient foundation scattered along the roads, are splendid examples of fortress houses. Here the land is clear, straw yellow, and at sunset the facades of the houses take on a warm golden color. In Ouarzazate we stop for two nights. The new city is built around the main artery, at the foot of a large Kasbah, which controlled the entrances to the two valleys from a hill. Built in earth with raw clay bricks simply dried in the sun with a large facade full of decorations and towers, it is now a national monument. Morocco has always been the country where international cinema has taken root. This is the place of the adventure where fatal women, legionaries and spies have been the protagonists of passions and overwhelming international intrigues that have collected the most important names in world cinema. In 1930, director Von Sternberg began shooting in Morocco. Followed by Julien Duvivier, Orson Welles, Alfred Hitchcock in the famous "The man who knew too much", Michael Curtiz who made "Casablanca", Pasolini who in 1967 filmed "L'Edipo re" Bernardo Bertolucci set the film adaptation taken from the book "Tè in the Sahara "and many others. And it is precisely in Ouarzazate that in recent decades the "Atlas" Studios have contributed to the making of films of great stature, as well as all the episodes of the Bible for TV.
