A friend in Tangier had a brother who was very sick and suddenly died. Fortunately, I had just recommended to him this funeral business while he brother was in failing health and gave him a business card. The man in the office speaks good English, which is another plus. This funeral home business carefully handled every detail. They immediately, within an hour or two of death, sent a doctor to examine the body and provide an official death certificate and then arranged for an ambulance to take the body to the mortuary at Duc du Tovar Hospital in Tangier. The business also informed the U.S. Consulate in Casablanca of the death and date of death. It arranged for the burial plot in a cemetery in Asilah, and the plot was dug before the casket arrived on the day of the funeral. Amazingly, all this was done for a very reasonable cost during the coronavirus lockdown. The all-inclusive total price was substantially less than my mother’s funeral in the U.S.A. which included embalming, airline transport, expensive casket, flower arrangements and viewing at the funeral parlor, etc. My friend was pleased with the efficiency and service of this funeral business. Its office is located behind the Chellah Hotel halfway down a quiet side street from Boulangerie Patisserie Florence.
