This is NOT Kirindy Mitea National Park. It is a small, private reserve of secondary forest with relatively few species of interest. There was: no hot water, no mosquito nets on windows despite loads of mosquitoes, no cold drinks, electric lights only after it has got dark, only two selections of meals which were 30,000 ar each and no vegetables. Cheese with termites in it for breakfast. Rip-off "add-on" costs: you have to pay 10,000 ar for headtorch "hire", 35,000 for "park" entry (it is not actually a park), 20,000 ar for daytime guide and 10,000 ar for night-time guide. Room is 130,000ar. Road there is terrible and inaccessible without expensive 4x4 hire. Not worth it. Actual Kirindy Mitea national park not accessible from November to April so this is the only option. Captive audience if you want to see lemurs. Yet again almost complete lack of tourism infrastructure in Madagascar prevents you from seeing what you would like to. Typical example of private profiteering from Malagasy wildlife with minimal effort (see Nahampoana in Fort Dauphin). Guide (Jess) was very professional and good.

The ecolodge is in the middle of the Kirindy National Park. The bungalows are oke, but in two of the 4 bungalows we've hired was the toilet not working. Also the food is very bad. The most of use became sick after eating this food. On the road to Kirindy is an another lodge but it's definitely not the ecolodge atmosphere

GREAT FOREST EXPERIENCE ! The lodge was comfortable, beds equipped with mosquito nets, toilet with flushing water and hot water shower. It was hot weather in Dec so we kept the windows opened at night and we were able to hear different species making noise at night, what a wonderful forest experience. Yes, fossa did visit us daily, and we were lucky to meet the brown lemurs jumping aross the trees eating their breakfast near our hut. Other encounters right at the lodge included many reptiles, bats and a snake. The restaurant provided basic breakfast with bread and butter, cheese and jam with coffee and tea. Lunch and dinner were satisfactory although the chicken was a bit tough, the steak was nice. No wifi or tel signal at the lodge. We were lucky to have it booked through our guide Olivier at Madarako Tours.

Expensive. Dumb staff who don’t even know French. The amenities in the bungalow are so-so. The kitchen is tasteless
