Alex the lion is the king of the urban jungle, the main attraction at New York's Central Park Zoo. He and his best friends -- Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo -- have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity before an admiring public and with regular meals provided for them. As Wes grieves and tries to move forward, he befriends a young outsider, a newfound relationship that will change everything. Black River is a dark read that will take you on the winding road to redemption. It’s about a man coming to terms with both his past and his future, which are so entwined that it adds a beautiful complexity to an otherwise predictable story.
