Amazing location. We had a ‘case double’, which is a hut with just a bed and a night table for 50000 Ar. The bed was great. Shared toilets and shower very clean. Food and drinks were a bit expensive (7000 Ar for a large THB, 18000 Ar for breakfast), but this is probably due to the remoteness of the accommodation.

This is a really special place! The owners have been living here in this somewhat remote site (hour on bumpy sand road) and made it into a perfect oasis. And there's even great showers and reliable electricity. The highlight here is the mountain sports, although we didn't do any of them, the hotel was filled with climbers, paragliders, base jumpers and hikers. They all seemed very happy. The owners are great and make sure you have a great stay, no matter your level of desired adventure.

This was the highlight of the 2-week trip. Going there to meet Gilles (the owner) is enough of the reason. The place is gorgeous, the huts are nice, all eco friendly. The breakfast is French style with buns and honey. The dinner is a 3-course menu, good malagasy food. The hiking was beautiful (although now you are forced to use local guides who are not great). The best part was the climbing. Gilles is a famous climber and he taught some local guides. So you can spend at least a day rock climbing under great supervision. It's the best place to do it!

I can't think that there's a better place to stay in Tsaranoro for walkers and climbers than Tsarasoa. Tsarasoa is equidistant when compared to other accommodation options for all but Lemur Wall and it's far far closer to the Chameleon. The view from 'Titanic' across the Massif is stunning (sleep with the curtains open one night), and the night sky is breathtaking (there's almost no light pollution). It's a very welcoming place to visit; all the staff are very friendly. IMO the food was really good and the flexibility with meal times for early starts (climbing, walking or transfer) is incredible. There's a library, well stocked bar and a telescope for watching other climbers during rest days. Please be generous with your time with all of the staff and if someone could find the time to take the barman climbing that'd be awesome (or perhaps next time we visit, soon).
