As the weather is not nice in Antananarivo, and I adore Ampefy, here I am back in the excellent hotel: Le Relais de la Vierge (a whole program in Madagascar). Nothing to do with the big city. We go to bed early but nature is magnificent and still unspoiled. I will still walk a lot. No taxi here, rickshaws, but very expensive for Mada, 20,000 Ariary to travel 2.5 km while I paid 6000 Ariary to travel 100 km from Tana. Good thing, I've always loved walking. And apparently, it keeps 😉 The hotel is the best value for money in Ampefy. Perfect for Mada, hot water, swimming pool (!) Small clean nickel bungalows and very nice restaurant with a very good and extensive menu. 10 euros per night! Very good meal with drink for 7.5 euros max. Friendly and attentive staff. What more ? There is no WiFi but 3G is excellent. Package price at Mada: 7 euros for 2GB during the day and 2GB at night. And it works much better than WiFi, which is often sluggish in hotels, bars and restaurants. Normal, in Ampefy, there are not too many people on the bandwidth and the repeaters are at the top of the mountains nearby. If you want to know Mada in the best conditions, this place is, for now, perfect.
