Hotel l'Hippocampe

Beautifully lush compound and spacious room. The beach is really close but did not look particularly inviting, because of the weather, on the day we stayed here. The staff were very friendly and the location is conveniently far from town to be quiet but still within walking distance. The shower in our room did not have hot water and the pressure was similar to that of a child peeing. There were only one other couple while we were there so the hotel was very quiet.

I had a very good stay at this hotel. Warm welcome, meals according to your order. And free city car transfer. The boss is very nice.

From the start, we were surprised, the price of meals, drinks, problematic shower, this did not really correspond to the idyllic picture presented on the site. Postponement of our departure for Masoala because of course it was more advantageous not to make us leave with two other people. Two trips are more lucrative than one ... The private beach is actually a garbage dump and the sea is unbeatable. Ah the meals ... 50,000ar, menus: fish, chicken or squid, a starter that comes down to 1 cucumber or 2 tomatoes and a handful of lychees. We went to Manga beach and ate very well there for 36,000 ar with a real starter and a real dessert, the beer was there at 6,000 ar while at the seahorse it is 8,000. The breakfasts .. tea which is not. We paid almost 400 euros only for meals, without drinks, which represents 43% of our stay (14 breakfasts and 24 meals), at their place, boat and Masoala reserve and guide included. It's huge, find the error! We have been in Mada for 20 years and have never seen this and have not said anything before as we wanted to see how far it will go ... There are only 2 positive points, it is the architecture of Masoala and Justine, the cook who does the best.
