Hotel Diamant

Huge building dominating the street view, close to town centre, with rooms available for drivers (included in the price). Rooms are big but dirty, really dirty, and all sort of bugs can be found everywhere. I spent two nights here in different moments: we thought we were not lucky the first night, but the second was alike. The view of the building, however, is quite interesting from the inside to the backyard.

Food was cheap and good. You should expect that you get what you're paying for. We had the Zebu with rice and tomato salad plus boiled rice water. All good.

I will just note the restoration not having lived the rooms. The service leaves much to be desired. They bring me the main course before the entry. The worst part was that we were the only customers in the restaurant. The thighs of nymphs a la meuniers are delicious (but in reality sautéed with garlic). The ravitoto correct but I prefer it to the coconut. The beef with tasty onions.

THIEVES AND IN THE TRUE SENSE OF THE TERM !!! If you are tourists and looking for a budget hotel do not go there. We were there my partner and I in December 2018, when we saw the hotel on our arrival we were scared but at the same time given the price of the night this is understandable, except that there the nightmare begins, greeted by a receptionist at the alcoholic smell we went to the far end of the building (old abandoned hospital style), the last corridor and as if by chance the only one without a surveillance camera (this is what we discovered later). After putting our backpack in our room, we left the establishment to go to dinner, an absence of 2:30 which was enough to have our room broken into. When we left the hotel there was a small group of guys in front of the entrance (I'll call them the lookouts) and on our return there was always this same group of guys, we quickly understood once we got to our room why these guys were downstairs. In the haste they did not have time to turn off the light and lock our room with the key, but in any case our backpacks did not look the same at all, there were everywhere, for you to say, they bluntly opened our card game to find money there but there was nothing unfortunately for them ... We went straight down to the reception to make a scandal, asked the manager, the boss, but no one, everyone was doing nothing ... We obviously left to sleep in another hotel not far from this one but with a different standard, a guarantee of safety in the end! All this to tell you never to book a room in this hotel, if you can call it that. Go elsewhere and above all, above all, check whether the hotel in which you are going and equipped with a surveillance camera in front of your room can always help ...
