This is one of the best places to watch sunset. There are no internet or mobile service aviliable. The beach is short and narrow likes it's preparing for only just for you. Less people, more comfortable. But only one restaurant can be found.
Booked for two nights and stayed for 4. Such a great place. You have a perfect beach almost to yourself. Staff are so friendly. Bungalows are nice, basic as you'll expect but very comfy and there's electricity. 15 min, fun scooter ride to the nearest village where's there's 4G.
The only place to stay on amazing Paradise Beach. Clean, basic bungalows right on the beach and some with garden view. Good breakfast included, served at the restaurant overlooking the beach. The beach is beautiful with hardly any people and the water is warm and clear. The only way to get here is a narrow dirt and concrete path through the jungle - be careful on the motorbike!
It was fully booked when I arrived (nice walk through the jungle). It was to late to return to Dawei (last minibus at 9am) and I asked if I could pitch my tent and pay to use their facilities.
They first said ok but for 20000ks including breakfast (luckily). When I started asking for a lower price (my own tent and mattress on the beach) then they say not possible after calling the boss.
They sent me back to the village saying I could sleep in the monastery. It turned out being impossible then a lot of people for involved including the village chief, a phone call to the police... I was supposed to go back to Dawei (3h mostly night ride on a moto-taxi with my big backpack) and pay 20000ks. I refused, too dangerous and too expensive.
They called back the boss of the paradise bungalows and he finally accepted me camping for a mere 10000ks including nothing, 100% benefit (my own tent and mattress, on the beach not in the compound, ok to use restaurant's toilet and an old place with bucket water for shower).
Not very welcoming, not really what you usually find in Burma... the beach is very nice though, could see the sunset and sunrise then leave early to catch the 9am bus.
Beautiful and unique isolated place. Good food and simple but comfortable bungalows. No internet and little MPT phone connection helps the feeling of complete isolation and uniqueness. Very nice and helpful staff. The owner Mr Zaw who speaks very well english is very nice and helpful. He can arrange transportation from Dawei airport to the hotel, which was for me extremely useful. I would recommend this place with no hesitation! And I will certainly return...
