Good location? Not so much....

Very nice & polite staff. Not good sound proof. You hear noises from other rooms and boom sound every time when a bus departs in front of the hotel. The bathroom is not so clean, but acceptable for the price you pay. Breakfast is ok.

Hninn Si is perfectly situated in Yangon. Just minutes away from great food, 7th Joint bar, Anawratha road, the Botataung Pagoda and the pier to Dale, it's right in the middle of the action in Yangon. Banks, all kinds of shops, money exchanges, it's all steps away. The staff is very kind and hospitable and cleans the rooms daily. Breakfast is included and consists of toast, an egg, butter, jam and a banana. Hot water works fine, wifi also, although don't expect next gen connection speeds. Air con in the rooms. Rooms are small and basic, but perfect if you're looking for privacy and peace. The price is excellent with everything in mind. Highly recommend this place to all travelers on a budget.

Cheap for a reason. The first night i stayed there were some dogs barking outside, and it was so bad. I had to change rooms. The second night had a 10 minute power-cut at 6pm, from 6am I could hear banging on someone's door for 15 minutes, and from 7am there was some wailing coming from the street, non-stop for half an hour. Also there are water pipes in my rooom, so whenever someone had a shower, I could hear the water rushing through the pipes. The point is, I could hear everything (even with earplugs) which meant I couldn't get a decent nights sleep. Likely due to the paper thin walls. The rooms are never pitch black, as the curtain always lets light in from the corridor. The staff are friendly, but all but one barely speak a word of English, which is very problematic. I had so much trouble even asking for a glass of water at breakfast. I had to ask 5 separate times to get some water, and when it finally came, they brought me a bottle of water with a broken seal, which had clearly just been filled up with tap water. Appalling, since you should never drink tap water in Asia (for those who don't know, it's not safe to drink). There were bugs in the bathroom, and ants in my bedroom, and a couple bugs on the dining table. Included breakfast was jam and toast. Also, the shower head rest( the thing you place the shower head in to hold it in place whilst you shower) was broken in 5 out of 6 shower rooms I entered, meaning you have to hold the shower head with one hand and wash with the other. Because the bathrooms are shared, it means you have to share with people that piss on the seats, which in the two nights i stayed were never staff-cleaned. Don't come here if you want a decent night's sleep, want someone to understand english well, and if you dislike bugs. If you can afford to stay somewhere more expensive, don't hesitate to do so. No soap provided for washing my hands on the level 3 bathroom, and no shower gel or shampoo provided in any of the showers.
