Overall very nice hotel but what makes it very good are the staff. Their attention to details with their friendly service makes it a pleasant stay.
The rating is solely based on the service provided by the Concierge Team. We gave them postcards to be delivered to the UK and paid quite a chunky amount, it was close to £10 for 8 postcards. The postcards were never delivered and that was back in MARCH 2020. I would understand if maybe one or two were lost, but none of them actually arriving means that the Concierge Team probably put them in the bin straight after collecting the money. Sad.
Good view, good place and good food.. very good place to relieve stress..
You cannot beat the lake view. The rooms are thoughtfully appointed. The bathroom is bigger than my dining room/kitchen at home! I shared a room with another adult and the beds were full sized and not tiny twins. The room was spacious with plenty of closet space. Breakfast was amazing with so many offerings. I swam laps in the pool as folks watched on chilled to the bone. Oh, having the mall downstairs is very handy. I should have stayed here the entire time in Yangon and will plan to do so on my next trip.
I’ve been to 27 countries across 6 continents, and stayed at hundreds of hotels at all price points, and I would say this hotel had the best service I’ve experienced anywhere in the world.
The concierge helped me buy last minute flights to see all the major cities of Myanmar, and even arranged someone to meet me at the airport to refund some money when I had to change my return flight.
The rooms were modern and luxurious, and had a great view of the lake. Everyone was extremely friendly, helpful and fun to talk to. Sky especially stood out for his wonderful service.
In fact, for the first time in my life, I extended a stay at a hotel simply because I liked it so much.
Overall, I would recommend the Wyndham to anyone making their first visit to Yangon.
