This is one of the ancient Buddha statue you can visit while in Sittwe. You can even see ancient Rakhine language script at the back of the statue. I heard from the person in charge of the place that it was made during Dhanyawadi era.

One of the most famous Rhakine Buddhas, copies of which are seen in other temples throughout the area. Very unique and worth a visit. Legend has it that this Buddha was lost for many years until a fisherman discovered it in the river.
