Last December we went on a breakfast walking tour with Sa Ba Street Food Tours.
Watching Yangon waking up for the day was an amazing experience. Our guide gave us an incredible tour.
The food was plentiful and delicious. We tried various pastries, samosas, salads (the salads in Myanmar are incredible), noodle dishes and the notorious mohinga.
In addition to the food, we explored a beautiful market, art installations and local craft shops. Our guide Kyaw gave us a history lesson of Yangon and Myanmar.
It was a wonderful experience, and one that I would recommend to anyone that visits Yangon. Next time I hope to go on a different food tour run by Sa Ba. Thank you!!
We visited Sa Ba during our stay in Yangon. Had a wonderful cooking experience that I was able to share with my mother in law. The food we made was simple enough yet very tasty. The tour of the market was great and we got to purchase the ingredients that we would use. Being originally from Myanmar myself I was pleasantly surprised to learn how varied Myanmar cooking and recipes can be.
Myself and a group of friends did the street food market tour and cooking class, and it was 10 out of 10! The market tour was so interesting and informative, it was beautiful to have the chance to learn about the culture and place with a local, and then cook what we saw/purchased! The cooking class was amazing. We made 5 meals, and they were all delicious! Then we all sat down and ate together afterwards, was really lovely. I’ll definitely be bringing my visitors back to do the tour again, and be recommending to all friends and family who visit- a must do in Yangon!
This was a highlight of my trip to Yangon! John was our guide, and he was amazing to walk through the market streets and go shopping with. He was open to all questions, and I felt safe with him. He is extremely knowledgeable of the area, and his English is very good. I would do this again next time I'm in the country. The food was delicious; I plan on using these recipes at home!
Everything was perfect. We booked the cooking lesson in Yangon and it was very interesting and tasty. Full recommendation!
