Nice place for a brief Shan history. The guide was named Fern who was a relative of the last Shan prince. Fern took her time in explaining the history which was very interesting. I did expect to see more of the palace but the tour remained in the front room and it's because the family do still reside there. Overall an interesting visit while in hsipaw.

Closed due to covid 19? Later I found that it is open to selected people taken by tour operator.

It's one of the best experience I had since I started my trip. They open their home to tourist without any fee only for tell you the history of Shan State. The nephew of the last prince and his wife (daughter of another prince) live here. You should be very respectful with them, don't scream around the house. They are so kind and they speak an amazing English so you can ask some questions to know more about Burma and Shan. I highly recommend.
