The most awful thing

My wife and I were on the last leg of our tour of Mexico. I just needed to fill up the rental car and return it in the morning. We decided to stop here out of convenience. We gave told the attendant to fill it up and gave him the card. When he was using the credit card machine, his buddy came over and they huddled in tight. My phone alerted me of the charge which was correct. The attendant then came over and asked for my passport # which I strongly refused. He gave me my card back and when I drove off. When I got down the street, I got another alert on my phone for $46 dollars additional. Instead of turning around and causing an international incident especially with my broken Espanol, I just disputed the charges. I didn't have any such incidents anytime except that one, when I was in Mexico. That is the main thing I don't like about gas stations in MX giving your card to someone, instead of doing it yourself. When on vacation always have your purchase alerts on so you know when there is any funny business.

It's a big petrol station, there's a convenience shop, the service is good, and according to the reports it serves complete litres. I know it sounds stupid, but in Mexico there are some stations that sell incomplete litres.
