Barbanegra Bacalar

We were super disappointed with our food in this restaurant last night! After waiting 30 minutes to receive our dinner, the first bite tasted of uncooked tempura batter on the shrimp. I managed to peel off the offensive batter and eat the shrimp. Unfortunately my husband ordered the same, so...he was unhappy too! FYI... there were only 2 shrimp on the taco total of 6 for the order, which was not good value for our money. Service was spotty at best. Don't bother!

After driving around for an hour looking for locals' fish tacos in the coastal town and being thrown off by restaurants' vibes and prices y finally came here and was very pleasantly surprised by the fresh and easy going atmosphere, adequate prices and friendly staff. I received my meal and loved the presentation! And the salsas are delicious, especially the habanero/piña) will be back here for sure!!!

A few friends and I were in Bacalar for the weekend and this restaurant was recommended on multiple occasions. We finally made it for dinner and it was just as good as expected from the raving reviews we had heard. The food & cocktails were delicious and the ambiance was perfect. The best shrimp tacos i've had since arriving in Mexico. Would definitely go back on my next trip there.

We had a really nice new years eve there! Got a shot for free after 12 and when we told them that the pina colada tastes bitter we directly got a new one with a warm excuse. Perfect service!

Cool place. Tacos are well presented. Not very tasty and too salty. Music too loud. Looks yummy but just ok. I ordered a guacamole which never came. Price a little high (but it's bacalar).
