El Barril Grill

I wish I could give this place 6 stars! Most importantly-- our waitress, Yolanda, was totally awesome! We enjoyed great personal conversation and stories all night (which she offered in Spanish or perfect English), she explained the menu options and told us the few items they were sold out of (she even brought out the raw steaks to show us what we would be getting before we ordered), and she mixed the perfect drink to go along with dinner for someone who doesn't usually drink cocktails... The food was amazing as well. I never order steak at restaurants because it is never as good as I can make at home-- but this steak was phenomenal! It was almost a pound of perfectly cooked rare ribeye with some perfectly cooked (not mushy at all) risotto and vegetables on the side. The hamburger we had was also delicious-- covered in creamy cheese and bacon and topped with EXTRA guacamole for only a few more pesos! In total, we paid less than $30 USD for two delicious, belly-filling meals and drinks for a few hours. We will be going back tomorrow for our last dinner in Bacalar and I already know that I am getting the Cowboy steak-- which is one kilogram of meat with all of the sides included! This is a MUST visit restaurant when you are in Bacalar.

Yes, a quaint centrally located grill with plenty of menu options. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, especially Yolanda.

The food was delicious! Yolanda, the waitress, was so pleasant and spoke perfect english. We had a wonderful night. Thank you El Barril Grill!!

Lovely restaurant,great staff ,food was delicious and good prices.Also they do a draught Stout beer which is outstanding and made by the chef!
