Bring your own beer, isolated and laid back...no real infrastructure

We were the only people there so the service was good however the menu was really limited - a couple kinds of beer and a couple of dishes. It was fine for a beer on the beach but I wouldn't go out of my way to head there.

CAUTION, they take your money! The beach was great along with the food and drinks, but the salespeople in town over-charged us. I double-checked the conversion rate as it looked high, but the guy said "Trust me senior, there are fees and taxes we have to pay which make the pesos higher, but your credit card company will get the U.S. dollars amount correct as I entered it. Trust me!" Someone that says "trust me" that much shouldn't be trusted. When I got home, my credit card charge was $116 more than we negotiated with them. Of course, the only receipt I had was in pesos. The only U.S. dollars receipt was promptly taken from us at "check-in" at the beach, never to be seen again. Also, our negotiated package with the street salespeople was to include a return taxi back to the cruise ship dock, and not to the town bus depot. We told the wait staff we were ready to go 2 hours before our cruise ship was to depart. After an hour of waiting, guess what? We had to pay an extra $5 per person to get a taxi back directly to the dock. We were just thankful that we made it back to the ship, then back to the U.S. We'll never take a cruise back to Progreso again.

Amazing view, good drinks and food but above all the sea there is quite calm and perfect for couples or families

Great place, very good food and margaritas, but the service is not fast, the order takes around 30min to be ready.
