When walking into Laredo or Nuevo Laredo, this is the only way to go. You will find the US "front line defense" at work, keeping the border safe. Very secure on the US side. Not so secure on the Mexican side, robberies and kidnappings every day. Cross to Mexico on foot at your own risk.

Have ur id ready. Be truthful. And you'll have no problems. Sometimes there is a line but dont worry. The officers are fast.you can't bring over anything with seeds in it (aka. Apple. Orange ect.)

An easy and pleasant experience walking into Mexico. The Mexican customs officials are always super professional and very courteous. They may ask to scan your bags (for small arms) in their x-ray machine which has a conveyor belt. There are also Mexican Marines present in the background for security but they, too, are always professional and courteous. (They rarely interact with normal, incoming tourists.) And there is almost always at least one or two employees who speak some English. Americans are allowed to bring in several hundred dollars ($300?) worth of merchandise into Mexico without having to pay duties or import fees.
