Place of tradition in a beautiful but neglected Holy Week, a curious fact in one of its chapels is one of the 2 replicas in the world of the sepulcher of Jesus

Jerusalem is the place of pilgrimage for many Catholics. One of the main rites is at Easter during the Via Crucis. In The Holy City, this tour is made through each of the stations in chapels distributed along the original path that Jesus made. Devotees and faithful from many parts of the world have tried to recreate these crossroads in their towns or cities. In America it was also made. The oldest Way of the Cross is in the City of Puebla. It consists of 14 chapels that represented the seasons. They were built in 1606 by the Franciscans following the outline and slopes of the original Via Crucis in Jerusalem. Before, each faithful used to stop to pray the respective prayers in each one of them, now they are only a journey in which their meaning is explained. It should be noted that the Víacrucis de Puebla is of an architectural type, that is, it is made up of chapels, rather than altars or other types of elements that existed in others on the continent. In addition, most of those 14 chapels are kept in excellent or good condition. The chapels are located on the slopes of the Cerro de Belén (hill where Los Fuertes were built) with the purpose of imitating the winding and elevation of Jerusalem. Among the Chapels are the Temple of San Francisco, the Chapel of the Macarena, the exterior of the Chapel of the Cyrene, the Chapel of the Veronica, the Chapel of Santa Elena, the Chapel of Plateros and the Calvary area. Great tour of the architecture and history of the place.
