I should've listened to other 1 star reviews, and cancelled the reservation. Instead, I also was asked to pay 3x (> 50 USD per day) more for the insurance with NO option to opt out, was charged an exchange rate 15% higher than market rate, again, with no option to opt out. In the end I ended up spending > 60 usd per day (> 50usd for insurance, ~5usd for "rental", and extra ~7 usd for exchange rate premium) for a small car, which is ridiculously high. I felt ripped off. Only reason why I couldn't walk out was because I needed the car soon. Next time

I was sceptical at first but we got a great deal on a car for 2 weeks and didnt get ripped off on insurance. Highly recommend I tell all our friend who visit Mexico to use fox. Thanks.

***BEWARE*** We rented this car in Los Cabos. Driving with our 3 year old the plastic piece just fell off from the bottom of the car. Photo is attached. I had to repair it on the side of the road to get us to the hotel as there was no cell phone service in the area. We were given a different car later on that afternoon. When returning the car in La Paz they told us we are responsible for this and we had to pay $353 USD for damages we did not do. Also, for some mysterious reason, they could not find a copy of bill for the damages, just said we owed $353 in USD - NO PROOF OR WRITTEN ESTIMATE. They told us to call then email customer service which we did. They said they would email us the estimate. Week later, still no copy and they do not reply to emails. On the phone, they just tell us to email customer service. In short, PLEASE rent from another company. DO NOT USE Mex Rent A Car. Look at the prior reviews, which I should have done as this seems to be a common occurrence with this company. This same review will be posted for the office in Los Cabos. It's a shame what this company does to the reputation for Mexico.

Service in Cabo and La Paz very good. No parking close to drop off point in La Paz so we parked around the back on the street behind the carpark. Attendant was very helpful
