There is two ifs in order to opt for this excellent place. You like to eat, real food not fancy, Spanish and you want to play Domino in this revered cantina. You will the viejos españoles (elderly Spaniards) that came to Mexico with the Civil War shouting and discussing while playing.

Covadonga is a really interesting place in Mexico City if you're looking for something traditional where there are no other tourists! This is the place where all the Mexican Grandpa's Hangout, it's like a big parlor or wedding style Hall, where they serve quite good share plates and the beer is plentiful. You can see many local Mexican Grandpa's playing cards, poker, or just catching up over a few drinks. There will be the few odd tables with some younger hipsters who know the spot.

Spanish food at its best! Traditional cuisine in a great menu, 5 course meal for a great price, the service is definitely old school, true waitress with impeccable service, attentive with a smile, its hard to find that these days. If you want to submerge in a non fast world, this is the place!
