Church of San José Chapulco

In 2016 I lived in the Bosque de los Héroes urbanization, Sadassi, and I attended the Eucharist on Sundays. I was struck by the liturgical celebrations, the unity of its parishioners and the preservation of beautiful religious customs, which have already been practiced, unfortunately in other parts of Latin America. Greetings from Barranquilla, capital of the department of Atlántico, Colombia. I am Colombian, but I spent 3 months in Oaxaca and Puebla, I had an unforgettable vacation.

The Parish of San José is a religious temple of Catholic worship that belongs to the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Puebla de los Ángeles, under the dedication of San José. Its altarpieces and the Jesús Nazareno chapel are some of the best examples of New Spanish Baroque art. It has canvases by the best nineteenth-century and nineteenth-century painters such as Antonio de Santander, Diego Bercuentos, Marimón, Pascual Pérez, Miguel Jerónimo Zendejas, Agustín Arrieta and Cayetano Padilla, in addition to numerous sculptures attributed to the Cora family's workshop. It is located in the populous neighborhood of San José to the North of the Historic Center of the city of Puebla.
