The patronal feast is celebrated on May 1, in honor of San José Obrero, the celebration begins with a couple of masses in the town church, the streets are covered with food stalls (tacos de adobada, beef steak and birria , chorizo ​​cakes, etc.), toy stands, various accessories, candy stands, brewery stalls, frets stands (plates, pots, pans, glasses, etc.), mechanical games. The party is attended by a musical group, band, mariachi that is invited by the parish priest, and at the same time by the help of the cooperation of some villagers. The town is visited by people from the surrounding villages, and people walk through the streets almost most of the day, and at night the plaza and the streets of the center are full, in the square there are tamboras (groups of music played by band songs) to liven up the dance that most of the young people attend the event and which lasts until dawn the next day if the municipal police leaves. Other holidays are the Fiesta de Rangel or Nuestra Señora del Refugio, which is celebrated on July 4. The other is the feast of La Ermita or Nuestra Señora del Refugio, which is celebrated on February 11 in La Ermita about 2 km outside the town. It is a population almost totally Catholic. The town is located in the region of Los Altos de Jalisco, which was of great importance during the Cristero War.
