5 stars being nestled in a canyon hidden away & breathtaking scenic panoramic views from the huts. This is great for large groups & those young couples in honeymoon mode-they don’t notice anything surrounding them lol. But if your past that stage of honeymooning or partying like your still in your 20s -even though your probably middle age clinging to your record, you might not be as comfortable, it gets noisy at night & the nearby park is full of people blasting loud music till the early morning. People also riding their toys & bikes all night, granted it’s like that at the dunes, but soundproofing wouldn’t hurt. The cabanas are in need of upgrading or strengthening & bathrooms awkward. Bed was hard like sleeping on the wooden floor-on top of the frames rollers not secured, kept roller if back & forth funny, yes but not when your there on it trying to sleep (I wonder how the honeymooners did it Lol, it’s pun!). Aside from that, it was quite interesting in a good way, but lacked comfort. The restaurant food was very disappointing and though cheap, it was because the cooking was terrible & tasteless. Also, they constantly keep badgering you into buying their alcohol- which is more expensive than going to the Ley market 5 miles out of the canyon. Everyone else didn’t hide their 12 packs or cases of beer they brought in coolers. At the time we went, we were told the pool was off limits due to pandemic, understandably. However were promised complimentary wine we never received. The TV/cable was staticky air - though you’d bank in being kept busy w/other activities but if your old like us, you’re on your own to either using up your cell or sleeping as it’s too much trouble going in & out of the dirt roads & streams, screwed at night bcz theres no street lights. The owner/manager & staff however were very sweet and accommodating. The zoo, birds, Australian gentleman & atvs exceptional. Riding through the dirt roads & streams not a deal breaker. Seeing people & their kids swimming in dirty water in the streams on the roads is not unusual as they’re seeking relief from the heat, it’s just dangerous when you have some impatient & horrible drivers unfortunately from Cali who have no regard for human life. It needs tweaking so don’t write this one off. But I had to be painfully honest.

Broken dirt road to make it there. The cabin had a non working TV, the shower was dirty, when we taking shower the water leaks to the bedroom like a river. We couldn't find fresh coffee at their restaurant, they said it opens till 9 am. The pictures are not according to the reality of this remote place. We made a mistake by going there. We're never going back, even if it was for free.

The roads getting there are challenging, do not go at night there are no lights on the dirt roads which make you more prone to getting lost or robbed. Have a offroad truck!

Visited Rincon Tropical Hotel twice. Once was to spend the night and the other time was part of an ATV tour. The property is a tropical oasis in the middle of a dusty canyon. But, the staff are strict about closing the pool and Jacuzzi at 9:00 pm each night. When they close at 9:00 it feels like the staff is putting you to bed because there is not much else to do. Stayed in a hillside cabana. The cabanas are small, but they do have a bathroom.
