This is a family favorite. It is so cool! Cash only, so be prepared. It looks scary as you walk to the dock, but underneath is magical. Great structure. Stay near the edges for best fish viewing. Awesome!

One of the very few places to snorkel without needing a tour. You can bring your own equipment and only pay the $12 entrance fee or rent theirs for around $10 more. Wide variety of fish and even crabs. Beautiful rock formations. It reminds me of xel-ha but much less crowded and a fraction the price. Pack your own lunch though or take a break at one of the restaurants nearby. Once you have your wristband you can go in and out

Great for first time snorkelers. Very safe. Better snorkeling in Animal where there are lots of fish, coral and sea turtles.

When the sea is rough, come here for an excellent snorkeling experience. We went to this location (further upstream) as it was slightly cheaper and did not insist on renting lifejackets. No fancy statues or gazebo to rent but you spend your time in the water anyway. Tons of colorful fish, great visibility except for where wonderful halocline effects where salt and fresh water mix. If you go towards the ocean you have a good chance to spot sting ray.

This is a great place to snorkel for a few hours. Saw a ton of fish near the fresh water area. It gets a little murky near ocean water but a fun swim. Make sure to bring fins because the current is tiring without them. There is a "local" entrance where you have to do a long dangerous walk across rocks. Would not advise it unless you like a challenging hike and/or want to save money.
