A nice place with most of the basic things. WiFi is good. However, not hat water for tea, coffee or noodles. Rooms good, shower good. The walls are thin and it can be noisy. You can hear everything in the hallway and adjacent rooms. The area is a bit doggy so know the historical Centro direction. It's clean, and has hairdryer, safe, small flat screen TV, two complimentary bottles of 500ml still water. Mirror, phone. Good shower pressure with hot water.

There is no way thia hotel should be rated this highly. At best maybe a 3 star but the area wasn't the best as it was over crowded and not clean. The room was outdated and cheap mattress. The bathroom is like an hotel 8 in the USA. One night was to many here.

All the Mexican personnel is very warm and professional. The food in the restaurant is very good and it offers a very good accessible price.

If you're looking for a cheap place to stay in the Historic Center of Mexico City, I recommend Hotel Castropol. We've looked into several cheap hotels, and Hotel Castropol was the winner in regards to price, location, and reviews. The room at Hotel Castropol can get hot because there wasn't an A/C unit in our room, but it worked out pretty well since the weather wasn't that hot.

If you are looking for a cheap place to stay in the Historic Center of Mexico City, look no further. We spent about $10 USD for one night at Hotel Castropol, for two people with two beds. We've looked into several cheap hotels, and Hotel Castropol was the winner in regards to price, location, and good reviews. The staff members were very attentive, and there were a few who spoke English. Everything was great, but I would like to touch on a few flaws. First and foremost, the room can get pretty loud. You can hear people from down the hall, and I'm sure others can hear you. Since the room does not have an actual AC unit except for a fan, we left our windows open. Because the windows were open, there were a lot more noise than usual. We heard people on their phones; we heard kids screaming. If you are looking for peace and quiet, I don't think this place is right for you. Second, I'm unsure if this is normal or not, but there was a cat in the hotel. Although I am mildly allergic to some cats, I love cats. Heck, we have two of our own. I am only saying this as a forewarning to others. As we were headed to our room, the cat followed us into the elevator. There was no way of kicking the cat off unless we left the elevator, so we did just that--we ended up taking the stairs. If you are mildly fine with noises and cats and you're looking for a cheap place to stay, then Hotel Castropol is the best option for you. Would I stay here again? Yes, I most definitely would stay here again. Staying at Hotel Castropol does not break my budget nor does it ruin my sleep.
