This is the spring of Tecajete volcano birth for one of the oldest acueduct of Mexico, you can see here the springs receptacles, a stone dam, a little Lake, an artificial river to bring water to the near town and fields, a underground acueduct, a line of arches for the old mamposteria acueduct all of this from XVI century, father Tembleque with the aid of locals make that marvel.

It is like an oasis that you find on the slopes of the Tecajete hill. My only but it would be that one should bring his soda, meat, anafre to prepare food. Since it seems like a lot what visitors are preparing 😜 In this time of heat and lack of rain (March 2020), the area is very arid, you will not see or appreciate the beautiful and green of the photos that are on google maps.

Place with a lot of history. The water holes that feed this dam are at the top; fenced to channel the water and make it reach this dam. At the bottom where the pines are (ocotes) and the already populated Chopos there is a small channel but it is a constant of black water. Very unfortunate that it ends right in the river that forms downhill from the crystalline waters of the springs of the cajete volcano.
