MEGA Soriana

If you have a kitchen while staying in Zihuatanejo this stop is a must. It's an absolute massive store, Mega, it's appropriate! It's the only great place to get all your groceries at a very good price. Baked goods are fantastic, great selection of seafood and meat, and any beer or liquor you want. Plenty of taxis outside, so don't worry about that. Staff was fantastic to us and very accommodating when I needed to return something.

MEGA Soriana was the large grocery store recommended by our hotel staff when we stayed at Marea Beachfront Villas. The hotel staff described it as "Mexican Walmart" which is quite accurate! The grocery store is just a 15-minute cab ride away from the resort which is super convenient. It was decent and we got what we needed.

Very good selection and easy to shop. Just like Target or Walmart back home.

One of the largest "hyper-markets" in Zihuatanejo. Similar to a Target store in the US, but with more food and less housewares. They have quite a nice selection of foods you'd find in the US, along with a small "international" section that has Italian, Asian, and other "specialty" foods. They have an on-site bakery, meat counter, large produce section, pharmacy with the best prices, and even a pizzeria. The pharmacy offers a 20% discount if you join their frequent buyers club in the form of points that you can redeem for future purchases. Non-pharmacy purchases get 5%. Unlike many stores in the US, there are always plenty of helpful staff in the aisles (but usually speak no English - only Spanish).

Spent a week in a rental home in La Ropa. Cooked some of our own meals and needed snacks and drinks. They had everything we could want and more. Health and beauty, pharmacy, clothing, fresh produce and meats.
