IZTA 54

I stayed here with a couple of friends with a booking of 4 rooms with a total of 11 nights. The hotel charged 3 of us one price and one room double the amount - $250 US dollars more. We brought this issue up during check in and check out and we were told it is our fault and they will not do anything about this. There was a COVID discount that only applies online. The first excuse was they were different rooms, the second excuse was we checked in on different days which was not the case, and the third excuse was "it's your fault." This is understandable but, to be told with disregard and disrespect "tough luck" simply didn't sit well with me. A lesson in customer service would be useful for the front desk staff.

Positives: Good location. Mostly comfortable room. Small safe. Hot, high-pressure shower. Negatives: Hotel personal consists of security guards who don't let their jobs get in the way of screentime. My room was above a restaurant with a very very loud fan that stays on until the wee hours. I was afraid to ask for a different room because there's no lift, and I was afraid I'd have to climb even more stairs. Definitely not worth the price. Should be an inexpensive Airbnb with a warning about the fan noise.

Loved this hotel in the middle of trendy Condessa. My room was modern and simple with everything I needed including a kitchenette, couch and king size bed. The bathroom was on the small size but typical of any major city. My only complaint is that I called the front desk twice to get a hairdryer and wine opener and no one picked up either time so I had to go downstairs. Not a big deal but it would have been nice.

I would go back to Izta 54 because: the street is one of the most beautiful in all of Mexico City, the building is incredible, the rooms are nicely decorated, spacious, clean and with an amazing bed and shower. My poor review is linked to the hopelessness of the people in reception and the management. Tons of mistakes in reservation dates before arrival, tons of mistakes there. They are friendly but utterly hopeless at running the place. Not a particularly cheap place, and no breakfast included nor bar, etc, so it ends up being a bit pricey for what it is. Also, lift has been eternally broken. Again, would return but knowing I can't expect absolutely anything functional from the staff, albeit their friendliness.

A wonderful place in a spectacular neighborhood. Side walk cafe's small cantinas and of course lots of dogs being walked. Next to a park, very quaint. Highly recommended hotel. Built 80 years ago, but very well.taken care of.
