In front of the main square, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Guadalupe stands out with its lateral tower of a body topped by pinnacles and the four tile images of the Virgin of Guadalupe that flank the entrance. Inside, the main altarpiece dedicated to Saint Ignatius of Loyola deserves special attention. On one side is the Old Temple and College of San Ignacio de Loyola, a complex dating from 1607 that, in addition to the usual works of art, includes the Matheo Museum and Archive with an important collection of civil and ecclesiastical documents as well as 17th century pictorial works. . It is one of the oldest buildings in the state. Its baroque altarpiece is wonderful.

This temple is located in the center of the magical town of Parras, Coahuila. It has the particularity that the church belongs to the old College of San Ignacio de Loyola, the first that was founded by the Jesuits to the south of this state of Coahuila. In one part of its structure it protects a historical archive called "Matheo" that keeps important civil and ecclesiastical archives from the XVII to the XIX centuries.
