My husband went inside and made a purchase so he could get change so we could make sure we tipped the attendant. Then the attendant swapped our $500 for a $50.

Agree they stole money by switching a 500 note we gave them for a 50 then requesting more money. Scam. Feel annoyed that we realized only after we drove off.

Gas station attendant try to rob me, switched $200 pesos to 20, be careful or don't buy anything from them

Cheated on pump no. 6 by MXN 450. Gave MXN 500 and gas man showed MXN 50 and pretended I gave wrong amount. When recalculating at home exact MXN 450 were missing. So normal Mexican cheating. My fault not having just one note in hand.
