La Quinta Avenida

It’s a cool place for walking around and exploring local shops/restaurants/bars. A lot of street vendors (handicrafts, drugs, food, and more). It’s crowded and noisy. Shopping malls, banks, spas, and any kind of service. Be aware of pickpockets.

This is a must if you are visiting the Playa Del Carmen area! Live bands are constant on the weekends. Be ready to dance salsa on the street!

A lot of people trying to sell you stuff. They get really closed to you to talk even if you ignore them, it's uncomfortable. We were wearing the hotel bracelet and more than 5 people said they were Carlos "our waiter from the hotel". If you get anxiety from being surrounded with people, it's not worth going. Besides that, it was a nice walk.

5th Ave has just about everything you could as for from one city on a 5 mile stretch of road!!

A walk that is synonymous with Playa del Carmen. A compulsory departure that must be done more than once. A chaotic and diverse pedestrian. With people from all over the world touring, looking and shopping. Hundreds of businesses of all kinds compete for customers. Over time it has been mutating from more town businesses to more prestigious ones but it is well worth the visit.
