Meztli Spanish Language School

This is an excellent school, professionally run, with very highly qualified and caring teachers and staff. The location is also unique, peaceful, and conducive to learning. My partner and I studied there four weeks and never had any issues or complaints. It was a great experience that I would highly recommend.

I loved attending the Metzli school for two months in 2017 and am still friends with many of the people I met there. The school atmosphere is very conducive to learning, the teachers are outstanding, and many activities are organized that are not only fun, but highly educational. Let's put it this way, the day will begin with yoga, then three hours of Spanish lessons in small groups doing grammar and conversation. At the conclusion of the school day, I would pick a local cenote to swim in, followed by Mexican cooking class that evening. I loved every minute of it! I highly recommend this school.

I love everything about this place. I am a solo female traveler and am learning spanish because I l moved to Chile from the US. As you enter thru the pink door from the street in Tulum you find yourself in a beautiful tropical outdoor language school. Everyone is very friendly and they make you so comfortable during the lessons you forget about making mistakes and just absorb the language. I have no idea of how they even understand me at times...I think I just make words up sometimes!! But..they have a talent for teaching Spanish that you learn during class and then go right out into the streets and actually use in the restaurants, in the stores and with the locals. Each tine I come here I learn just a little bit more..they figure out a way to get me to speak spanish which has been the hardest part for me in learning a language. One of the best things about taking in-person spanish classes while traveling is that the teachers and staff give you tips that only locals know! Also, you can meet other like minded travelers while at Meztli. I have been a few times and plan to return on all my trips to Tulum. You can feel safe from Covid here because the lessons are outdoors and are socially distanced. When there is no pandemic, they offer yoga classes in Spanish during the mornings, group activities at the school and excursions on the weekend. Students are of all ages and levels so whatever your situation..you will feel welcome. Thank you to all the staff for always making learning spanish interesting and enjoyable.

This is a magical place, a real gem in Tulum. The open air setting in a lush yard is a dreamy location to dive into Spanish immersion. The teachers are thoughtful, patient, fun, and very good at creating a learning environment where you feel simultaneously challenged and cared for. There are amazing opportunities to take your learning into the organic and historical beauty which surround Tulum, through several options for excursions with local guides. Highly recommend these offerings! I took small group classes and private lessons. Both formats were extremely valuable to me and my growth in Spanish language surprised even myself. And, the prices are reasonable and well worth the investment. My teachers were flexible to my interests and also worked to keep me moving through their curriculum as well. I love Meztli so much!!! They accommodated my first classes there on very short notice, so even if you’re in Tulum for not much time, message them to see what you can get set up!
