This place is absolutely beautiful! We stayed in room #3 and it has the best, breathtaking view of the ocean. The manager Ewen is very accommodating and respond pretty fast to any request. The staff is so nice and friendly, we loved Diana and her sister at the restaurant, which by the way, has the best vegan food we've eaten; the samosas, and Rasta burger were the best; my son and daughter loved the hot cakes they got for breakfast, they are still talking about it. The maintenance guy (I forgot to ask for his name) was always ready and available to help fixing something or bring the heavy water gallons to the rooms. Every time we were out on the beach or the city, we always came back to a clean room. It was a very pleasant stay the Casa Mauna.
Casa Mauna is the best hotel I've been to in Mexico. I was surprised to hear it's only 3 months old! The owners run this hotel like a 5 stars; it has everything you need. Each unit has a beautiful kitchen, a spacious bedroom, a gorgeous balcony and everything you will need for an amazing stay.
The hotel has 6 units (if I'm not mistaken), so you will have a feeling of premium service but also intimacy. The staff is courteous and very professional. Diana at the restaurant is sweet and offers outstanding customer service. Blanca from room service is very detail oriented and takes amazing care of your unit.
You may think the best part of the hotel is the infinity swimming pool because of the view. But the BEST part of this hotel is the restaurant, by far. I am not a vegan, however I have lots of vegan friends and I am a foodie... so I've been to so many vegan restaurants across the World. I can tell you this is THE best vegan restaurant I've ever been to. Who would have imagined that a hotel restaurant in Salchi would be the best vegan food one can find? If you go for breakfast, try the Benedictinos!
I also recommend their pasta. Their burgers are amazing, but some may find them dry if you don't ask for extra sauce. Try them, you won't regret it.
You will also have direct access to a small beach that is sometimes so empty it may be considered a private beach. And it's a beautiful beach too! It's the Pacific, so waves are strong and continuous. So don't go too deep if you don't know how to swim (like me).
Overall, I STRONGLY recommend this hotel to anyone!
Casa Mauna is a beautiful and peaceful place. The master suits are very comfortable, it feels like they have been carefully designed for you to feel like home.
The suits overlook the ocean and it takes only a 3 to 5 minuets walk to get to the beach.
And, what makes casa Mauna stand out from all places, is its 100% vegan -top class- cuisine. It’s simply delicious.
A very very special place. Absolute tranquility and beauty. We ended up staying for 3 weeks :) Click to read our highlights below:
- Room #3 is is incredible. Absolutely stunning view of the ocean for sunsets from private balcony with hammock
- Beautiful and modern designed mini-apartment with all necessary amenities to make a comfortable short or long term stay
- Comfortable king bed, a/c, fans, mosquito net to meet every sleeping comfort need
- Beach is short three minute walk from the room. Feels like a Private bay beach with no more than a few people on the secluded shores. Beach essentials included with the room (snorkel, umbrella, etc)
- Beautiful, remote location— perfect for getting away and relaxing while still being able to stay connected if working remotely. It’s isolated and very quiet, we fell asleep to the sound of the ocean every night
Service
- Masseuse came on sit during our stay for a lovely massage on private balcony, overlooking the ocean. Reasonably priced
