Selina Mexico City Downtown

Probably the WORST experience ever. My husband and I lived there quite some time and we always had issues regarding cleanliness and administration. They were extremely unprofessional, un effective and always justifying themselves for the awful service they offered...always. The new general manager is shady and tried to charge us things that WERE NOT stipulated on the contract. We tried to contact global administration and they were slow, unresponsive and never even cared to give us an update on our case -up to this day-. There were only a few members from the staff who actually cared to do things right. We also got a death threat by a drunk guest -one staff guy had to physically remove two KNIVES from him- and the general manager never did anything about it. Two guests and ourselves left after that. Please, for your own personal security, if you are planning on visiting Mexico City consider other places. Price on this place is not worth it whatsoever. P.S: A couple of the staff members do drugs and steal from the Bar on a regular basis and we have evidence of this. Seriously, major fail Selina.

Very friendly staff (all bi-lingual), great cocktails in the bar and very stylish decor. Nice atmosphere, with an interesting crowd from all over without being pretentious. Kike in the bar and Yas in reception are the best! They'll take great care of you :)

- OK location: located in between the old town and the neighborhoods with the restaurants (Roma, Condesa). - staff very friendly. - kitchen often dirty. - kitchen lacks cutlery: I have only seen 3 spoons and a few forks. - the soap for cleaning dishes is a powder and not a liquid, but it works too. However, for 2 days (and maybe longer), there was no soap at all to clean. That is weird in general. And absolutely weird in a pandemic in which we should be extra carefully with cleaning. I could only wash my spoon with water for 2 days and then other people would eat from that same spoon.. - I stayed in a private room. That room is nicely decorated. - bath room design is outdated, but it works. - hot water arrived after 5 minutes. Takes long, but it works. - a lot of street noise, because the hostel is located at a busy street with cars horning and many sirenes, and the hostel has very thin windows. And the balcony doors cannot shut properly (see photo) so you will have all the noise from the street in your room. I would recommend to the building owner to invest in double/triple glass and doors that can be closed completely.

Probably the worst customer service I have experienced. Bar staff rude, Security very rude, Reception very rude. Never coming back again.

I loved the staff. Receptionist, bar attendees and everybody else are so amazing. I loved my stay in this hotel.
