Top quality restaurant food in the Northern/European style drawing on local produce to create wonderful dishes. Warm welcome. Friendly staff. Great ambience. Busy. This was the best meal we had in our 3 week tour of Yukatan. All the more surprising given the remote location. Booking essential.

I've waited years to experience this place and it was well worth the wait ny fiance and I had a chance to visit the palapa twice on a recent trip to Xcalak. Let's just say this place lived up to the hype. Fresh local ingredients and extremely bold delicious flavors. I would highly recommend the ginger lobster bites. The single most impressive thing is Marla the chef is extremely talented and cognizant of good allergies. She came and spoke to my fiance in depth about her allergies and helped to create and amazing one of a kind dish special for her. The Leaky Palapa has to be one of my most favorite restaurants in the world.
