My experience here was rather calm. Their is a variety of almost everything from clothes to food,though if you seem like a tourist beware you might get ripped off on some items. In markets like these try not to dress too appealing like wearing jewelry, fancy/branded clothing etc.. I bought something here and the owners noticed I was a tourist and even she warned me to make sure my bag(where my money was) to place it in front of me since I could get robbed.

Large place to buy many things that you may want. Fairy priced since the stalls are independent.

It's okay to shop here! You get real lower prices on mostly anything. And no, regardless of what people say, La Central is not a dangerous place. I would just suggest to dress like you just got out of bed lol! I'm saying because there are also areas where drug addicts are around just scouting for Cell Phones and Wallets. But it's nothing to worry about. I usually go there, and I've worked there too for about 1 1/2 years. I've never witnessed anything crazy.
