Grutas de San Sebastian

Amazing place! Bring water shoes if going to the underground river. There are rental shoes available. There is a lot of walking steps involved and going down a steep ladder to get to the underground river. Overall it was a great tour.

This ia an amazing site. We only stopped on a trip from Oaxaca to Puerto Escondido but will go back for a longer stay. The caves and guide was fantastic - and fanastical. Takes about 90m for basic walk. You have to be in reasonable shape and there is a fairly steep climb up a road and steps to the entrance and then you walk in low night (supplied flashlights only - bring more powerful ones if you have it) on some uneven surfaces. Really recommend a visit. Friendly and knowledgeable site staff. Busy on the weekend - empty during the week. Excellent road in from Highway 131 and stunningly beautiful country. Cabins are m$200/p/n look clean and new.

The people are so friendly and helpful. The natural wilderness is just something you will love.
