The Normal Border School Tijuana emerges as a teacher training institution in July 1994, as an extension of the Normal Border School of Mexicali BENUF. The first and only public normal school in the municipality of Tijuana, is founded under the direction of Professor Jesús Ortiz Figueroa; who immediately set out to find the right facilities for its operation. Since the same month was published the call for the selection of new students to the normal schools of the entity. So the Teaching Update Center (CAM) of Tijuana, kindly lent its offices for the performance of the first and most elementary administrative actions of the nascent institution. It was difficult to find a building for the start of work. Time was running out and we did not find adequate facilities to house students, teachers and managers. After knocking on numerous doors without finding a positive response, we were fortunate to arrive at “Las Américas” Elementary School, located in the Tijuana Beach Gardens Section. This school only worked during the morning hours, which allowed us to operate during the evening. The solemn inauguration of the first semester with the founding students took place in this institution for fourteen years, from September 1994 to 2008, when the facilities of the Tijuana Border Normal School are delivered. As of September 1, 1995, the normal school received a new impulse by having its own code and the designation of Tijuana Border Normal School (ENFT). With this, his first directors were officially appointed: Jesús Ortiz Figueroa, director, Sofía Cuevas Silva, administrative assistant director and Ana Estela Burgoin Ojeda, academic assistant director and as education support staff, Secretary Magdalena Urías Flores. The teachers' plant was made up of the founding directors and commissioned teaching staff of some sister institutions. The teaching, administrative and support plant increased over the years, as well as the efforts to have its own building, finally finalizing on July 4, 2008, the day when the Governor of the State of Baja California, Mr. José Gpe . Osuna Millán, inaugurates and delivers to the Director Psic. Juan Carlos Madrueño Pinto, representing the normalist community, the facilities that will house the future teachers of Tijuana. Today, the Normal Border School Tijuana, XV years old, is a teacher-training institution that maintains high academic standards in the three degrees served by a Bachelor of Primary, Preschool and Special Education. Consolidating with the support and commitment of all those who work there as a quality institution, concerned with training teachers that live up to the commitment of being an excellent teacher, thus contributing to society and more specifically to Baja California children.
