La Casona de Valladolid

Wonderful buffet! Incredible range of choices, and all the items we tried were delicious. We chose a table out in the garden, adjacent to the fountain. The setting is unique, and very pleasant. The service was superb, from the ladies in beautiful dresses at the entrance, to the well managed buffet, to the table waiters. After eating we walked about in the inner square and viewed the artistic display for Virgin of Candelaria, a cultural experience. This restaurant was a highlight of our 10-day trip to the Yucatan.

My favorite meal and chill out place for a beer in all of Yucatán. I usually avoid buffets but this one i enjoyed for specific reasons. This was my first visit to Mexico and it allowed me to try all the local dishes at one sitting instead of painfully going from places to places trying to sample all the local flavors. Not the best food you might argue but I was totally satisfied with the quality and quantity. I did try a few restaurants prior to coming and I was not disappointed. Perhaps the most memorable for me was the setting and the environment of the whole set up that was a 5 star experience. Valladolid is a quaint town and it totally made my 2.5hr drive all the way worthwhile. The restaurant is located next to a traditional courtyard which I can only imagine in the past watching Zorro?! The church like inner courtyard located by the back of the entrance is really dazzling. I spent a good 2 hours in the premises eating, soaking in the sun in the outdoor dining area and admiring the artwork of the pedestal erected by the stairs. Great Atmosphere! Food was great with variety. An awesome young man as a waiter named "Abraham"! Met him 5 years ago. This is my 3rd time going! We always pass through & say Hi to Abraham. Hope he is there this time. He is excellent..Great Customer Service. Abraham is very attentive & kind! Thank you!

Beautiful design. So beautiful that local tour guides bring the tourists to see the paintings. A great place with wonderful atmosphere and good food.

The restaurant setting was beautiful, the staff very attentive and friendly and the buffet was varied and delicious. Try the chicken mole poblano. The altar located in the rear if rear of the restaurant was also very beautiful made by Mexican artisans in the traditions of the locals
